Memorial Day

Being awakened with coughing spasms several times last night didn't make for a very restful sleep. We were up around 7:30, though, so we could get things done for the camping trip Wednesday.

It was sunny first thing this morning, but soon the day turned cloudy. As we were leaving the WDCS this afternoon, there came a frog strangling rain, and it poured on and off throughout the day. So we were unable to fly our flag in honor of Memorial Day, but the men and women who served, and are serving, our country were in our thoughts.

Nothing remarkable happened for the rest of the day. For supper, we had fried chicken (cooked in a dab of olive oil and frequently sprayed with cooking oil), mashed potatoes with milk gravy, and fried green tomatoes (limited oil, as above).

As usual, we spent the evening watching TV...a just-to-pass-the-time Lifetime movie about a woman who takes revenge on another woman whom she imagines stole her boyfriend, and a couple of one-hour shows.
