Thursday, April 17

Up at 6:30 this morning to get ready to drive our scrapbook club members to another town about 45 minutes away to browse a large flea market, a discount store, and to have lunch at a buffet restaurant.

The other two ladies arrived just before 9 a.m., and we headed out. Arrived at the flea market around 10 a.m., and spent about an hour an a half there. There was a world of stuff in this large store, but all I found that I wanted was a magazine on card making. One of the ladies bought a craft book, but the other lady, and Mother, found nothing they wanted.

From there, we went to the restaurant. We all ate too much, as we usually do when we go to a buffet restaurant.

Before coming home, we stopped at a large discount store, where we found a lot of scrapbook/card making supplies in a clearance area. The items were 90% off, so they ranged in price from as little as three cents up to twenty cents. I also bought a movie DVD, some dish towels, and makeup remover.

Around 3 p.m., we were ready to head home. We arrived just after 4 p.m. It was a beautiful spring day, and we thoroughly enjoyed this outing.

While we were gone, Hubbie attended a Master Gardener program on pruning roses and crape myrtles. For lunch, he went to a local fast food restaurant.

After lunch, he ran errands...to the library to re-check a DVD on my card, to the cable company store to get a new remote (the old one just wouldn't catch the cable box signal, even when we changed the batteries), and to the newspaper office to drop off this week's word search puzzle contest.

He was in the driveway when we got home, ready to load our lawn mower on a trailer to be taken to the shop for repair (the lawn mower, not the trailer). I can't remember a summer when our mower was ever ready to go at mowing time. I guess it gets cranky after sitting all winter in the garage without being started. The truck and trailer pulled into the driveway right behind the van, but the driver left room for the other ladies to exit in their car.

Mother was ready to go home as soon as we arrived, so I accompanied her. Later, I sent soup, slices of rye bread, and a slice of angel food cake for her supper.

Hubbie and I weren't ready for supper until later in the evening, and we had soup, too. Then we watched episodes of "Bones."
