Thursday, January 15

Br-r-r...what a cold day. It only got to about 23 degrees here today, so I'm glad I didn't have to leave the house. The other members of the scrapbook club called early this morning to say they couldn't attend this afternoon, so I called the Extension Services office where we meet to let the secretary know we wouldn't be using the conference room today. I also reserved the room for the third week of each month of 2009.

Then I had breakfast, hit the treadmill, and got ready for the day. Mother came over about 9 a.m. and started the 11-bean soup cooking. After that, she relaxed in the living room rocking chair, while I spent most of the rest of the day creating scrapbook pages.

Even though we had already gathered photos and paper for the project yesterday in anticipation of a scrapbook club meeting today, it still took a lot of time to decide on page designs and then execute those designs. I completed two pages of Granddaughter...one of her in dress uniform, and one in camouflage fatigues...plus a sparkly page of Grandson and the girl he escorted in the "Mr. and Miss Christmas" event.

It was after 4 p.m. by the time I finished the pages. At 5 p.m., we had a supper of leftover chicken noodle soup, with crackers and cheese.

Mother went home after supper, and Hubbie and I settled in front of the TV. I dread having to get up really early tomorrow and face the frigid weather to go to a 7:30 a.m. meeting of the home medical services advisory board that I serve on. I've been asked to bring my camera to take shots for the local newspaper.
